MIP Label Lookup

MIP 레이블 조회The menu is a screen for viewing the list of sensitivity labels by company. You can check the labels of the logged-in company and the labels of external companies connected through "External Company Connection" by switching between companies.

This screen isMicrosoft 365 Dedicatedis. The menu is displayed only to customers using Microsoft 365. The labels queried here are Microsoft's MIP (Microsoft Information Protection) sensitivity labels.

This screen isRead-onlyThis is. Adding, modifying, and deleting labels is performed in each company's Microsoft Entra ID, and cannot be changed on this screen.

Label Query Screen Configuration​

Company Selection​

Basic SelectionThis is the logged-in company. The name of the company is displayed in the first item of the dropdown.
Companies Appearing in the ListThe logged-in company and in "External Company Connection"External companies in the "Connected" stateIt is. Companies with the status of Pending Approval, Rejected, or Released do not appear.
SortingThe logged-in company is always the first item, and external companies follow the order of the connected list.
When there are no connected external companiesThe dropdown is not hidden and only shows one logged-in company. Next to it, a prompt appears to first establish a connection in "External Company Connection."
If the connection to the company you were inquiring about has been disconnectedThe company disappears from the dropdown, and the selection reverts to the first item (the logged-in company).

Only the companies directly connected by this company will appear in the dropdown. Connections made by external companies with third-party companies will not be displayed.

Label List Table​

The label list is provided in a table format that allows you to view the labels of the document security policies set in the SHIELD DRM service at a glance.

Each label includes the policy name, policy ID, policy description, and policy help.

  • **Policy Name:**Represents the name of the label policy.
  • **Policy ID:**An identifier uniquely assigned to each label policy.
  • **Policy Description:**This is a description of the purpose of the label policy or the applied document security policy.
  • **Policy Help:**Briefly explain how to use or precautions for the policy to which this label applies.

This screen's정책 ~The item refers to the properties of the MIP label,조건부 정책It is a different concept from the policies set in the menu.

Below the table, the name of the company currently viewed is displayed along with the total count, allowing you to confirm which company's list you are looking at.

Refresh and Last Viewed Time​

  • top right of the table새로 고침The button and the last query time will be displayed.
  • Last query time isSelected Company CriteriaIt is. If you change the company, it will change to the time you viewed that company.
  • A company that has never been viewed will show a mark indicating that it has never been viewed instead of the time.
  • Even if the query fails, the last query time is displayed along with the reason for the failure, allowing you to check the basis of the list.

How to Check Label Information​

  1. on the admin pageMIP 레이블 조회Moving to the menu.
  2. Company to inquire about회사 선택Select from the dropdown. The default is the logged-in company.
  3. A label list table appears, displaying each item with the policy name, policy ID, policy description, and policy help.
  4. Policy ID on the right복사 아이콘You can click to copy the corresponding ID to the clipboard.

View Labels of Connected External Companies​

External Company ConnectionWhen the connection is established on the screen, you can view the sensitivity labels of the external company on this screen. The administrator specifies the labels confirmed here in the transformation rules of the conditional policy.

Prerequisites​

2You must be in a "Connected" status with the external company you want to query.
3An external company must have completed the Azure app registration. Even if the connection is established, if this condition is missing, the query will fail.

Inquiry Procedure​

  1. on the admin pageMIP 레이블 조회Moving to the menu.
  2. 회사 선택Select an external company from the dropdown. The list will only show the companies that are logged in and have a "Connected" status.
  3. The list of sensitivity labels for the selected company is displayed, and the last viewed time is updated.
  4. Copy the ID of the required label and specify it in the transformation rules of the conditional policy.

**Each company has a different label naming system.**Documents with the same nature may have different label names depending on the company. This screen is intended to visually confirm those differences and allow pairing in conditional policies,Labels are not automatically mapped.


When not found​

Incomplete Azure app registration for external companyThe connection is maintained, but the label retrieval fails. The reason for the failure and the last retrieval time are displayed in place of the list.Request the completion of Azure app registration with the external company. You can also check the "Needs Verification" status for that company in the connection list of "External Company Connections."
Other query failuresDisplays the failure reason and the last query time without clearing the list. If it has never been queried, that fact is displayed.After re-querying, check the connection status and the Azure app registration status of the external company.
The connection to the company you were looking up has been disconnected.The company disappears from the dropdown and the selection reverts to the first item.The label of the released company is no longer retrievable. To view it again, you need to reconnect.
Label is 0 casesA notification indicating that there are no registered MIP labels will be displayed.It is different from a query failure. If a sensitivity label is published to the Microsoft Entra ID of the selected company, it will be displayed in the list.
Query is delayedThe loading status will be displayed along with the selected company name.Delay is not failure. Please wait until the query is complete.
MIP 레이블 조회Menu not visibleThe menu itself is not displayed.This is the case when this menu is set to hidden in the administrator role permissions. Please check the company's permission settings.

Caution​

  • The label policy can only be viewed with administrator privileges.
  • The ID of the label policy should be carefully protected to prevent external leakage for security reasons.
  • Types of Label PoliciesDRMorMIPIn this case, the policy is linked to the conditional policy of the SHIELD DRM service.
  • The permission for the "MIP Label Inquiry" menu is associated with the permission for the "External Company Connection" menu andseparateIt is. The connection is established, but the hidden administrator for this menu cannot view the labels. There is no impact on the connection itself and the conditional policy settings.
  • The dropdown only shows external companies that are in the "Connected" status. Labels for companies that are in the statuses of Pending Approval, Rejected, or Disconnected are not retrieved.
